A Humble Beginning
Born into a large family of eight siblings in a small Indian village, Jebamony Mathias’ childhood was shaped by hardship and humility. His father, a daily wage laborer, and his homemaker mother instilled in him the values of perseverance and faith. Against all odds, young Jeb pursued education with relentless determination – first at St. Xavier’s College, then at the prestigious Madras Institute of Technology where he earned both his B.Tech and M.E in Instrumentation Engineering, later completing an M.A in Christian Studies. He continues the PhD studies at MLCU.
The American Dream and a Life-Altering Storm
His brilliance took him to Tata Consultancy Services and eventually to Standard & Poors in New York. But at the peak of his career, life delivered a cruel blow – a devastating kidney disease that nearly claimed his life. Returning to India with his seven-months-pregnant wife in emergency conditions, Jeb faced his darkest hour. Yet in this storm, miracles blossomed: the birth of his daughter Nivetha in February 2002, and the selfless gift of life from his sister Prema Latha, who donated her kidney for his successful transplant in May 2002.
A Life Reborn: From Survivor to Servant Leader
This second chance transformed Jeb’s purpose. Today, as a Chief Technology Officer, he doesn’t just build systems – he builds lives. His journey has become his ministry:
Mentoring young engineers and business leaders, supporting orphanages and sponsoring tribal children’s education, counseling couples and guiding those in crisis, sharing his testimony in churches and missionary fields.
Wisdom Forged in Fire
“Life is empty,” Jeb reflects. “We arrive with nothing and depart with nothing. What matters is what we do in between.” His story reminds us that true success isn’t measured in awards or achievements, but in lives touched and hope restored.
A Mission Continues
Now channeling his experiences into writing and missionary work, Jeb focuses on: Documenting his inspiring survival story, advocating for tribal education, guiding others through life’s storms, and pursuing spiritual fulfillment through service
His life stands as powerful testimony that our greatest trials often become our most meaningful missions. From village poverty to corporate success, from death’s door to life renewed, Jebamony Mathias proves that with faith and perseverance, no obstacle is insurmountable – and every second chance is an opportunity to serve.
“In the end, when it’s over, all that matters is what we’ve done.”
